On July 10 2015, three distinguished American writers came to Deutsches Literaturinsitut Leipzig and jointly read from their work. Around 60 guests joined them for the very special event.
For two hours, current Picador Professor Lauren K. Alleyne, Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy K. Smith, and former Picador Professor Catherine Chung created a warm and unique atmosphere for the audience. Their dedicated presentation of selected poetry and prose easily captured everyone’s imagination. Additionally, the three writers, who happen to be close friends, shared stories about themselves with the guests and in the end thoroughly examined their work in a very personal panel discussion.
This unique event was part of the international conference “Democracy and Difference in the ‘Pacific Century’” sponsored by American Space Leipzig.
