On January 25, the German-American Institutes (GAI) and US Consulates from Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Leipzig, and Munich came together at the US Embassy Berlin for the annual GAI workshop to celebrate the transatlantic partnership and discuss the future of German-American relations.
This year, the workshop covered developments in the transatlantic partnership under the new administration, opportunities for future cooperation among the GAIs and Consulates, and social media best practices. Chargé d’Affairs Kent Logsdon and Minister-Counselor for Public Affairs David “Mike” Reinert joined the discussions, among others.
The uniqueness and importance of American Space Leipzig as the only German-American Institute in eastern Germany was also addressed in the workshop.
We used the meeting to plan future events and workshops and strengthen our friendship with key partners and other GAIs. We will continue our mission to encourage learning, exchange, and dialogue between the United States and Germany.
