American Space Director Crister S. Garrett discussed the state of relations of the United States with Europe and Asia almost one year into the Presidency of Donald J. Trump.
Prof. Garrett posits that in spite of the US administration’s America First policy, Europe continues, and will continue to be the United State’s most important ally on the social, political and economic stage. Furthermore, Prof. Garrett states that the widely publicized crisis of transatlantic relations under President Trump should be regarded as a challenge rather than a crisis, especially in the historical context of previous crises such as the Vietnam and Iraq war.
In addition, there is an ongoing tectonic shift in the transpacific space where relations of the United States and China play a major role.
